A careful analysis of the political situation in the world—focusing primarily on Serbia and the USA, as the author of these lines is most interested in these two—leads to the impression that everything somehow revolves around eggs! Namely, at the dawn of the twilight of the Progressive Party government, the former minister in the late Government of Serbia, the “charming” Tomislav Momirović, said the following: “Two eggs for 22 dinars can keep a man full all day!” Journalists, not being lazy, checked the prices at the hotel owned by his father and discovered that scrambled eggs made from two eggs cost 750 dinars there. It was a moment when even the staunchest followers of the ruling party laughed bitterly. After Toma’s “wisdom”, something big needed to happen to wake the people up. And it did. Unfortunately!
WAKE ME UP WHEN NOVEMBER ENDS
At the end of summer, when life in America was still normal, the price of eggs in stores reached ten dollars for a carton of eighteen. The pampered public couldn’t recover from the shock for days, and then the Kardashian family issued a statement. Over breakfast, they unanimously concluded that this had gone too far and ordered their servants to make them steak instead. Thus, in the fall of last year, dissatisfaction began to pile up among the working class and middle-aged office workers in the USA. These were mostly white men, between thirty-five and fifty years old. They all had stable jobs, good salaries, comfortable homes they were paying off regularly, and the value of their vehicles (they adore pickup trucks) exceeded real estate prices in some bad neighboorhoods. All of that was for nothing when colored immigrants were walking around, and an egg cost 55 cents apiece. All of them, along with millions of like-minded unfortunates, decided to support the MAGA movement to “make America great again.”
November was a month of great changes—in Serbia for the better, in the USA for the worse.
After the tragedy in Novi Sad, students began blocking universities and woke up their parents, grandparents, and fellow citizens. The great chess player, President Vučić started making desperate moves, each worse than the last. The students checkmated him multiple times, but with the help of regime judges, he kept changing the rules, retracting moves, and making minor concessions. His position was so shaky that even sacrificing a knight in the endgame didn’t help at all. The students, however, armed with knowledge and patience, are calmly and steadily bringing the endgame to its final phase.
President Vučić has proven that he handles crises poorly. He turned the tables and attacked all those who supported the students. In doing so, he “transferred” the majority of actors, athletes, and professors to the ranks of enemies… When, on the same day, both serbian actress Mira Banjac and Madonna speak out against someone—that’s not a good sign! Independent journalists, whom he had persecuted through regime media for years, finally got their five minutes of fame, frequently stating in their articles and TV appearances that what had happened in Serbia over the past twelve years wouldn’t be possible in any normal country. With great respect and gratitude for their fearless fight for truth and objective reporting, this is the first time I won’t agree with my colleagues.
Seven and a half thousand kilometers west of Novi Sad lies Washington, D.C. There, in just twelve days, one man caused similar damage to what his Balkan counterpart did over twelve years.
THE RETURN OF THE WRITTEN-OFF
Since officially returning to the White House, Trump has made it clear to everyone that the fears of normal people were justified and that he would fulfill his campaign promises as soon as he took office. The first days of his renewed presidency were marked by an unprecedented avalanche of brutal political moves and shameless executive perversion. In many cases, these actions directly violated the law, decades-old traditions, and even the Constitution. His initial executive orders were taken directly from the right-wing manifesto Project 2025.
Let’s take it step by step.
The new administration highlighted the existence of diverse and transgender citizens as America’s biggest problem, which should immediately be erased from the country’s legal system. His first executive order mandated that the State Department recognize only two genders—male and female. This prohibited federal documents from offering other options. The military was advised to develop discriminatory policies toward transgender soldiers because “expressing a false ‘gender identity’ different from one’s sex cannot meet the strict standards required for military service.”
Trump then revoked an executive order dating back to the civil rights era, which had mandated that federal institutions not discriminate against their employees. The order was originally signed by President Lyndon Johnson and enabled the desegregation of the federal workforce. The new administration declared war on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in all state institutions. The Commander-in-Chief issued a special order for the Armed Forces, directing the U.S. Air Force to withdraw an educational video honoring the achievements of famous African American pilots who broke racial barriers in the military. The State Department, under the leadership of Marco Rubio, banned the display of LGBTQ+ flags and other symbols on State Department properties.
Acting Attorney General James McHenry fired all Justice Department officials involved in Trump’s criminal cases, claiming they couldn’t be trusted to “faithfully implement the president’s agenda.” Trump pardoned nearly 1,500 convicted criminals who participated in the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Among them were Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, whose 22-year sentence for sedition was fully erased, as well as violent demonstrators who assaulted police officers. The initial wave of pardons also included militant anti-abortion activists who violently blocked access to clinics.
The president issued an executive order revoking birthright citizenship for children born to parents without permanent residency in the USA, clearly violating the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This order sparked outrage and lawsuits, including from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and dozens of state attorneys general. The first judge to rule on the matter, appointed during Reagan’s presidency, issued a temporary injunction, calling Trump’s order unconstitutional.
The flamboyant Donald declared a state of emergency in the southern U.S. and deployed federal troops with the task of “sealing the border.” Meanwhile, the administration launched a campaign of mass deportations, organizing raids in workplaces and public areas, including arrests outside schools and churches. Agents harassed and demanded identification from U.S. citizens, such as a military veteran in New Jersey and a member of the Apache tribe in New Mexico. Plans are underway to build detention facilities (read: camps) for 30,000 migrants in Guantanamo Bay.
The U.S. withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement, aligning itself with Iran, Somalia, and Yemen as the only countries not part of the global plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Trump signed an executive order blocking permits for wind power plants—just one in a series of decisions aimed at freezing funding for environmental infrastructure and subsidies for low-carbon technologies.
The orange-haired autocrat signed an executive order withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization, while officials in his administration instructed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to cease communication with the global health body that warns about potential pandemics. The administration temporarily blocked George H.W. Bush’s global initiative to fight AIDS, which has saved 25 million lives worldwide over the past decades.
OF A MANIACAL ‘FATHER’ AND AN INNOCENT MOTHER
Trump pushed through a series of controversial appointments in the Senate, placing loyalists in key government positions.
Pete Hegseth (Department of Defense): A former Fox News commentator known for sexual harassment, public drunkenness, and Islamophobic comments during his Army service. Even some Republicans voted against him.
Kristi Noem (Department of Homeland Security): Despite admitting in her memoirs to killing her own dog and falsely claiming she “personally looked Kim Jong Un in the eye,” she was appointed. Shortly after, she donned a uniform and participated in an immigration raid in New York.
Scott Bessent (Department of the Treasury): A high-ranking Republican financier opposed to raising the minimum wage and any form of social assistance. His task is to create the “External Revenue Service,” a new form of tariffs that will increase the cost of goods in American stores. Just as long as egg prices don’t go up!
Marco Rubio (Secretary of State): A long-time Florida senator confirmed unanimously (99-0). His first decision was to freeze aid to Ukraine but not to Israel.
Trump ordered the Gulf of Mexico to be renamed the “American Gulf” and the highest mountain in the U.S., Denali, to be renamed “Mount McKinley.” Along the way, he mentioned the possibility of annexing Greenland and the Panama Canal. On his wish list was the idea of making Canada the 51st state of the USA.
The MAGA leader openly supports ethnic cleansing in Gaza. At a press conference during the Israeli prime minister’s visit, he presented a plan for the U.S. military to “cleanse the entire area” and relocate Gaza residents to Egypt and Jordan. Elise Stefanik, Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, stated that she believes Israel has a “biblical right” to the occupied territories in the West Bank.
The White House shut down the Office for the Prevention of Gun Violence and gave Elon Musk access to the tax and banking information of all adult U.S. citizens, violating several federal laws.
All of this happened in the first twelve days of Trump’s second administration. Unlike his previous term, when he chose people similar to himself, this time he surrounded himself with intelligent but malevolent associates (Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos, Murdoch), who can never have enough money and don’t care about the cost.
And so, three months have passed since it all began. Toma Mona disappeared without a trace, and students don’t have to eat eggs because the citizens of Serbia prepared local specialties to treat them during their march from Belgrade to Novi Sad. After the introduction of tariffs, it became much more expensive for pure-blooded American whites to fill up their pickup trucks, and they no longer have avocado toast and kiwi smoothies for breakfast. Luckily, the price of eggs remained unchanged.

those who are high, fall; those who are low, rise.”
